Polygenic risk score

A polygenic risk score (PRS) is an estimate of the genetic liabilibity of an individual to a given phenotype, based on the aggregated effect of risk alleles associated to that given phenotype. PRSs are calculated by the sum of an individual's risk alleles, weighted by the effect sizes derived from large-scale GWAS data.
